Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Care of our pupils is a vital aspect of our school life. We believe in the development of the whole pupil and it is our aim to ensure that every pupil leaves here feeling comfortable with themselves, and with the emotional strength and ability to make life choices that serve them well.

Each Senior pupil is part of a tutor group. Each Form Tutor has experience in guiding the pupils of that particular age group. Each year group has a Head of Year who is a specialist in dealing with the key issues of the particular age group.

As part of the Pastoral Care programme, each pupil receives Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) guidance selected to guide pupils through personal decisions in their life.

Our care for your child begins as soon as you accept a place for them to join the School. Form Tutors and Heads of Year work to ensure that your son or daughter settles in and is able to take full advantage of all that the School has to offer. As well as supporting their academic progress and encouraging involvement in the extra curricular activities on offer, tutors and Heads of Year look to support pupils in their social and personal development. This is not only done through the weekly PSHE programme but also through daily contact. It is important for us that your son or daughter feels a part of our community. We also feel that you, the parents, should feel part of our school community too, and so we encourage you to keep in touch with us.
