Mr Chaim Ferster, Holocaust survivor

It was our profound privilege to welcome Mr Chaim Ferster to our school this morning. Now aged 93, he shared the harrowing story of his upbringing as a Jew in Poland and his incarceration in eight Nazi concentration camps during WW2, including Auschwitz and Buchenwald. We were all deeply moved by his tragic tale of suffering, loss and survival. He answered questions and joined us for lunch, and even asked to play one student's violin.
